Rules for our carp fishing venue in France

We have a number of sensible rules to ensure the safety of our fish. It is also to ensure our guests do not have their carp fishing holiday in France ruined by the actions of other people. Anyone found breaking these rules may be asked to leave.

Lake Rules at Mayflower Pool

We ask all guests to review these rules before arriving at the lake.

  1. Maximum of 3 fishing rods per angler
  2. Barbed or Micro Barbed hooks only
  3. Minimum breaking strain line of 15lb
  4. No braided mainline (braid for spodding is fine)
  5. No Leadcore or leaders. Anglers to use tubing or “naked” style
  6. Only particle purchased on-site to be used
  7. No sacking of fish. All fish must be weighed/photographed immediately. No retaining fish in slings to wait for daylight hours for a better photo opportunity
  8. All anglers must have at least a 42” landing net and a quality weigh sling
  9. All fish to be placed in and weighed over the cradles provided
  10. Rods must not be left unattended at any time. Anyone visiting the lodge must reel in (unless you are in swim 3)
  11. No children under 14 years old
  12. Bait boats must be used sensibly and not encroach into another angler’s water
  13. The rowing boat is only to be used by the bailiff for fishery purposes and fish safety and is not to be used by guests
  14. Alcohol must be consumed responsibly. Any drunken or abusive behaviour will not be tolerated. No drugs whatsoever and this will be enforced 
  15. Lakeside trees and vegetation must not be damaged
  16. No open fires. Disposable BBQs are ok as long as they are placed on something to avoid damage to the ground
  17. Please keep the lodge clean and tidy
  18. Do not put empty gas canisters in your general rubbish bags, leave them in a separate area at the lodge. All glass and plastic to put into one bag, and all other general waste into another. Failure to do this will result in you having to take your rubbish home with you.


BOOKING TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1) All bookings are only confirmed once the group or individual has paid the appropriate deposit.

2) The deposit is non refundable unless Mayflower Pool have had to cancel or re-arrange your dates. Should you need to cancel your trip then a refund will not be due.

3) The remaining balance is due and must be paid by no later than 8 weeks before your trip. Should you fail to do so then Mayflower Pool have the right to cancel your trip with no refund and sell your space to other angler

4) Should you need to change your booked date, this is at the discretion of Mayflower Pool. 


Protecting our big French carp!

If you are unsure as the safety of the rigs you are using then please feel free to ask. We do not want to get into the situation of random rig checks at the lake but all guests must ensure they take notice of the rules above.
